After 6 hours!! here's how I turned things around

I got 145 impressions on a post... after 6 hours.

I have 43k followers on LinkedIn, and yes, it can still happen!

People ask me what to do when a post flops.

Delete it? Move to Mars from embarrassment?

No need. First of all, breathe.

A low-performing post might feel like the end of the world, and like nothing is working anymore.

But usually the post isn't bad, but one or two elements can be tweaked or fixed.

So, I took a big breath and reviewed my post:

The visual was trying to do and show too many things. And three "key ideas" were fighting each other for attention.

It was already 5pm, but I really believed in my message.

So, I made a few changes, and posted the updated version (here's the link!). The second post got 36k+ impressions. Good thing I didn't give up, right?

And then I went further and posted about this exact fact that my first post underperformed (very meta haha).

And THAT post got even more impressions - 102k! Talk about making lemonade out of lemons haha

What made the posts perform is that I followed my post publishing checklist to review them to make sure I'm avoiding any common mistakes I also miss from time to time, so I wanna share it with you here:

P.S. Don't give up on the idea when a post underperforms. I felt annoyed for a few moments, too. But I tried again and that made the biggest difference. Do try again ❤️
